The East Village building that is home to Half Door Brewing Co. has been sold for $3.8 million.

The property was sold by Douglas Hamm to an undisclosed buyer.

Built in 1906, the 5,000 square-foot building had been a residential duplex. Hamm and his company, Creative House, bought it in 2010 and converted it into a restaurant and brewery in 2015.

Half Door Brewing will continue to lease the site at 903 Island Ave.

James Lehigh and Nathan Holthouser of CBRE Newport Beach represented the seller.

Ryan King and Kipp Gstettenbauer of Voit Real Estate Services represented the buyer.

“Half Door Brewing is a staple of the East Village and has a strong following among locals,” Holthouser said.

Lehigh said the building’s “high-profile tenant and future potential upside in rent allowed us to field many competitive offers.”
